What we take on

Unity where the product is a game; plain C# and .NET where it is a tool, a service, or a desktop application.

A system

Netcode, simulation, tooling, architecture

The part of the build nobody on the team specialises in, built to outlast the project.

A slice

A feature, a mode, a platform

Taken off your critical path and merged back into your repo, on your review process.

A whole title

Prototype to ship

Including the unglamorous half: certification, console SKUs, and a release date that holds.

Track record

Nox Aquila is Renan Peris’ studio. The two client engagements below were contracted with him personally; Battle Mech Frontier is the company’s own.

A licensed title, shipped at scale

Renan Peris as Head of Engineering at Mega Cat Studios — Five Nights at Freddy’s: Into the Pit, released 7 August 2024.

Overwhelmingly Positive on Steam. A studio leadership seat rather than a lead engineer’s desk: 175 people, 38 developers, up to 12 hours of time zone apart, and daily communication across every department, outside studios included, on licensed IP, to a strict timeline and budget. At that size the hard part is keeping people from blocking each other, and it was answered in how the project was structured rather than in overtime.

  • 5 SKUsconsoles, 7 weeks after PC
  • 1 of 8on the studio leadership tier

VR training simulation, at production pace

Renan Peris, contracted directly by a North American enterprise training provider, across two end-client programs.

Each procedure is the full operating sequence of a real medical machine, authored step by step: the physical action, the logic that recognises it, validation so no step can be skipped or taken out of order. Delivered into a codebase already in production — and from the third procedure on, the client dropped its submission step and accepted deliveries on sight.

  • 14procedures delivered
  • 52steps in the largest procedure
  • 20 / 20milestones accepted

A realtime multiplayer stack, end to end

Nox Aquila’s own product, Battle Mech Frontier. Unreleased — what is claimed here is the engineering, not a commercial outcome.

Custom binary protocol over UDP, authoritative .NET server, MySQL, and a per-room actor model so rooms run in parallel while each room stays single-threaded and lock-free. The Unity client shares one domain-model assembly with the server. It ran in production against strangers on the public internet, where the protocol is the defence: every inbound message is checked against what that message is allowed to say, and dropped whole the moment any part of it falls outside.

  • 1,223automated tests
  • 11 yrsprotocol still in use
  • 152matches recorded and replayable

What you are buying is not a pair of hands on your backlog. It is the layer that makes the rest of the backlog cheaper.

How we work

Fixed price

Against a defined deliverable, wherever one can be defined. The VR engagement held a flat per-procedure price from the first milestone to the twentieth.

Inside your repo

Branches, pull requests, review — whatever you already run.
